President Uwe welcomed everyone to the meeting on a beautiful spring day at 12:20 pm.
He made a point of expressing the club sorrow on the recent loss in the Snedden family.
He also noted the completion of the 62nd annual Music Festival on Sunday. A great event, thanks to everyone who organized, volunteered, supported and worked through the last two weeks (and for many weeks prior to that).

All the club extends their prayers and sympathy to the Snedden family on their recent loss.
The Rothwells were very happy to welcome their first grandchild, Mia to the family over the past few weeks.
The Baumans were also happy to have a new grandson, Connor in Calgary.
All the club was pleased to hear that Wayne Chesley had received successful treatment for prostate cancer over the past few months, and everyone will heed his advice to both be regularly checked and always search for alternatives. Medicine is evolving very quickly and new treatments are appearing very quickly. We all wished Wayne much success in his recovery and appreciation for standing at the podium and telling us the story.
Minute People:
Dawn Barr reminded those in attendance that we are running low on club draw items, so please consider bringing in something (even something you have a home), or purchasing something while you are away or even donating (Dawn offered to go shopping for items, if members provide her with the funds).
Brenda Bauman thanked the club for all the fundraising, the volunteers, the work of the Music Festival Society all toward the impact of the Music Festival on literally hundreds of young people. Once again the Festival got great complements from the parents, the performers, and the adjudicators. As well, she thanked the Medicine Hat College for the work of their staff and the fabulous venues, the Medicine Hat Lodge for great support on the room rentals and breakfast for the adjudicators and the community volunteers.
Dave Panabaker reminded the members of the Centennial Celebration event of the tour of the Beverage tomorrow, and the regular meeting at 7pm (at the Cypress Club).
Karen Blewett did a short summary of the PETS training that she received this weekend. She is particularly encouraged by the flexibility given to individual Rotary Clubs by the recent Council on Legislation, by the work on Public Image and Promotion that will soon be available and the theme for next year, which is "Making a Difference".
Joe Chacko thanked Brenda Bauman and Don Davis for leading the Music Festival Society to another successful year, and thanked everyone for attendance at the Rosebowl and Stars of the Festival, where the MH College Theater was about 80% full.
Don Davis also wanted to thank the Medicine Hat News and the local radio stations for their coverage of the Festival. It was superb and is really appreciated by the performers.
