President Elect Karen Blewett and PE Nominee Chris Perret did a presentation on a motion to amend the existing 2016-2017 RC of MH annual budget to allow room for Rotary Impact Assessment. This assessment, that will be sent out to professional evaluation firms, will provide better information on the impact of Rotary within the community and on individuals.
As an attraction and retention tool it is hoped this document and the social media clips that it will provide with show how Rotary has affected the community and the return on investment (ROI) which our funds and donations create. This type of assessment falls out of the strategic planning work that we have recently completed and has interest at both the club and district level. The intention is to try to offset the proposed expenditure with District grants and some other funds, but our commitment is proposed as $10,000.
The work will add to our celebration of 100 years of service, and will hopefully be complete by the Centennial celebration in June 2018.
A number of questions were asked and answered, and the following motion was proposed by Karen and seconded by Chris.
“That the Rotary Club of Medicine Hat accepts an alteration to the Club’s existing/approved 2016 ‐2017 Budget, to introduce a new item known as a Rotary Impact Assessment. The expenditure for this item is $10,000 and will use existing funds previously allocated but not spent in the Rotary Club’s current 2016‐2017 Budget.”
The motion was passed unanimously by the club.
We all look forward to the result and using those in recruiting and fundraising.
