President's Message
President's Remarks

President Karen Blewett opened the meeting by welcoming all present to this Halloween dress up edition of Rotary.  A number of Rotarians came to the meeting in costume, but the editor only has two photos to share (my apologizes for that).  Dieter and Kitt Brand looked really good as "Mr and Mrs Highliner", and they weren't the winners!

Voted best costume was Margie Booyens, the "not so grim" reaper!!

Great work by everyone that participated.

President Karen's "Fun Facts" for our Centennial related to the recent District survey, the great participation by our club (35 responses out of 72 members) and that 91% of the respondents felt appropriately engaged by their work and time with Rotary.  A copy of the survey is filed under Club documents

District Survey results - focus on our club
President Karen Blewett reviewed the results of the District Survey conducted this winter by Rotary District executive, to assist in understanding the needs of the members in the District, the perceptions of the work of District executive and with sufficient participation, the details down to a club level.

A copy of the survey can be found in Club documents, so if you haven't had a chance to review it, please take some time to go through the presentation.

Karen reviewed the results of the District survey, the need for District to be more outgoing and transparent in their activities.  Their work is not well understood by the general membership and District executive have taken this to heart, being mindful to advertise more of their activities.

Karen also reviewed our own club results, fully 35 of 72 Rotarians filled out the survey.
