The guest speaker will be Yusef Mohammed. He heads up a non-profit called COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS.

Yusef will share with us all the activities and events this organization undertakes, to make newcomers to Medicine Hat and College students from abroad, feel welcome and part of the community of Medicine Hat.

We invite ED Lisa Dressler to come to a Club Meeting once every year - to update us on Chamber of Commerce developments, challenges, plans.

Lisa is always warmly welcomed and her presentation greatly appreciated.

We are looking forward to welcoming Delynne Lorentzen to our meeting on 24 November.

Delynne is ED of the Rotary Music Festival.

This will be an important opportunity to hear about the 2026 Rotary Music Festival and to ask questions and have a discussion about many other festival-related matters.

The Rotary Club has two separate dates to "ring the bells" for the Salvation Army this year and mind the Christmas kettles.  Both doors at Walmart are available and there are five shifts for each day.

President Milan and Board member Stan Sakamoto, together with Gwen Dirk, Peter Mueller, Sharon Hayward, Susan Sakamoto and Margie Booyens, are cooking up a storm of a Christmas Party, to be held in the Grandstand Banquet Room, Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds (same venue as for the Why Rotary event) on Monday 1 December!

The doors and cash bar will open at 5:30pm and dinner will be served shortly after 6pm, after the opening and welcome by President Milan.

The ticket price is $35 pp.

Please book the date and think about who you would like to bring with you!

Our guest speaker from Habitat for Humanity will be Melina Kane, who serves on the local HforH board.

This will likely be an interesting presentation, so please bring anyone who may be interested in what this organization does and is planning to do, locally and further afield.

It'd be great if any 'hands-on' opportunities were mentioned, that we, as a club, could consider!

Program Committee member Sharon H has organized with the Veiner Centre that we stuff Christmas stockings for vulnerable people, once again this year.

Planning is still underway, but we're hoping to have our regular club meeting at noon in a meeting room at the Veiner Centre, after which we can do the stocking stuffing.

Somewhere in between, we can descend on the Bistro for something to eat!

Details will be firmed up nearer the time - but please put Monday 15 December in your schedules - noon meeting followed by an hour or two of stocking stuffing.

It will be fun - bring friends to help!

Cori Fischer is Director of the Veiner Centre.

Do come to hear Cori speak about the Veiner Centre, including the programs that enhance the quality of life of older adults in our community.

You are welcome to bring FAMIILY AND FRIENDS to this meeting!

On this date, we will have a Police Officer giving a talk on aspects of FRAUD.

Sergeant Adam Gregory is in the Community Support Unit.

He will speak on Fraud trends and tips.

Isadora Brum Nesi (from District 4640 in Brazili) will attend our February Business Meeting and will give a brief talk on herself, her family, Brazil, and her New Generations Service Exchange Program.

We'll be visiting the Downtown Library on Monday 9 February.

Chief Librarian Ken Feser and various staff members will address us on library programs, challenges etc.

Do invite family and friends to accompany you - it will be an interesting visit to a very important resource in our community.

February is Rotary International's Peace Building and Conflict Resolution month.

We have made arrangements to have Lorelei Higgins as guest speaker - online or, if we are lucky, she and her partner Doug Webb (RC of Calgary Downtown) may attend in person.

Her topic: " How Does Peace Grow?"

We will have a Business Meeting on Monday 2 March.

Added to the agenda will ble the 'classification' / introductory talk by one of our new members.
