It was a great celebration! Over 50 Rotarians, partners, Honorary members and friends of Rotary enjoyed a very tasty lunch, at beautifully decorated tables, and a wonderful time of catching up and fellowship on this 19th day of December, during our last meeting of 2022. One member joined in via Zoom and her support of the event was appreciated!
President Melanie Harty thanked the Medicine Hat Lodge for the effort put into the Club's Christmas Lunch, and welcomed all, after which the eight at each table introduced themselves.
There was no formal agenda for the meeting, but those present were given the opportunity to share ‘Happy Dollars’.
Happiness and appreciation were expressed for a variety of family doings, family achievements, festive events, and for different Club members. We highlight just a few:
Adolf Seiler and the other members who collected for the Salvation Army (Christmas Kettles) at various venues around the City on Saturday 17 December
Those who regularly participated in Bingo session teams during 2022
John John who, week after week, faithfully sets out and packs up the regalia in the meeting venue at The Lodge (assisted at times by Ian MacLachlan and Dick Bide), and
Dave Panabaker, who contributes to the functioning of the Club in so many ways, often behind the scenes.
Note the good advice on Dawn Barr's top!
Wrapping up the event, President Melanie invited all to stay on and enjoy one another’s company a while longer. She said how much the good turn-out pleased her, wished all a happy festive season, a merry Christmas and the best for 2023.
