President Chris Perret opened this fun, Christmas project meeting, at 12:15 pm.
O'Canada was performed on the piano, as well as a number of pre-meeting Christmas carols by Don Reid.
President Chris updated the club on our Rotary Centennial Trail project, comments on the design are being dealt with and the proposed crosswalk on South Boundary Road at the Desert Blume turnoff has been enhanced to help with safety. The Request for Quotations to several local contractors will be opened on Thursday and hopefully they will be in a position to start the layout and grading this year. It is still intended to be a paved trail in the spring of 2019.
A short questionnaire has been emailed out to members, asking for feedback on strategic priorities and fundraising. The results of this survey will be part of the strategic planning session in mid-January. A date for that session will be announced shortly.
Please complete the questionnaire and either bring it to the next meeting or email it back to Chris. This is an opportunity for all members to express their opinion and to have their voices heard, so don't waste the chance.

The Rotary Club took on a challenge to supply 150 Christmas stockings to the seniors at Masterpiece - Southlands. Led by Heather Bach, the club purchased a number of fun things and at our meeting on Dec 3rd, did an assembly line of "stocking stuffing", to prepare the gifts for delivery later in the week.
Sometimes this group can be forgotten at the Christmas season, so hopefully this will brighten many spirits. Great work all!
A number of spouses of Rotarians were welcomed to the meeting, thanks for coming out Jennifer, Vicki, Fran and Diane.

The club passes on its condolences to the family and friends of Joe Leask, a former member of our club who passed away on Monday Nov 26th.
Adolf also wanted Rotarians to keep Doug Thorson in their thoughts, as he recovers from surgery in Houston TX.
All Rotarians wish Sarah Koch, partner Brock and especially Maggie Rose, strength and love as they deal with their daughters recent diagnosis with Cystic Fibrosis.
