President's Information
President's Remarks:
Today's meeting was conducted by the Director of International Service, Teresa Schile so that President Chris Perret could concentrate on the presentation of the next stage of discussion on the club Strategic Plan.
Teresa reminded the club that July 1st is a Monday this year, so we will not have a meeting but will be cutting cake in Kin Coulee Park from 11 am to 3 pm, the sign up sheets will be available next week.
Teresa also reminded the club that the upcoming Rotary Friendship Exchange participants from New Zealand will be visiting the club from July 3 to 6, and so an evening meeting is planned for FRIDAY JULY 5 at the Medicine Hat Lodge.  We are hoping that the New Zealand Rotarians will do a presentation that evening and all Rotarians and partners are invited to take part.
Teresa also reminded the club, that an event we are supporting will be running on Saturday.  "Hues for Humanity" is a fundraiser for Canadian Humanitarian and she is looking for a few more people who are available on Saturday morning, to help set the Rotary tent up and participate in the color station.  Please contact Teresa if you want to help.
Teresa also thanked Anne and Theresa for organizing a wonderful visit to the MH High School last week, and our thanks go out to Sue Withers, Student Advisor to the club.  The club is a success because of her work as well.

Strategic Discussion - Pillars of the Club
The meeting of the club was spent discussing a key strategic decision for the club go forward, that of our key focus areas.
The club is in the midst of a number of discussions about sustainability and modernization, and for the short term future it is advisable to establish some "Pillars of the Club", which will help define the club both internally and within the community.
Chris Perret, Karen Blewett and Heather Bach led a discussion of those pillars.
A questionnaire is going out to all club members this week and the intention is to integrate whatever pillars are approved more intentionally into the work of the Rotary Club.
