President Meeting Remarks:

Director Mike Christie, and Treasurer Gail Halderman ran the meeting today, President Mark is away in the wilds of Northern Saskatchewan closing up the fishing cabin.  Mike thanked all the Rotarians who donated items to the Interact Garage Sale on Saturday, all those Rotarians who worked before, during and after the event and especially to Theresa Eisenbarth who thought up the idea and is our Interact Rotary advisor.  It was a fun event, raised over $1,700 for the Interact club and allowed participation by a number of Rotarians, partners and family.

Gail Halderman reminded everyone that the 2020-2021 Budget presentation will be made on Monday September 28th, that is our next "in-person" meeting at the Medicine Hat Lodge.
Melanie Harty, the Community Service Director took a minute and updated everyone on the construction of Rotary Centennial Park in Dunmore.  Work is progressing and hopefully toward the end of September there will be an opportunity for Rotarians to get their "hands dirty" and help plant trees and landscape the park.
Dave Panabaker also advised that the formal naming of Rotary Centennial Drive (old 23rd St NW) is progressing and their will be a ceremony when the actual street signs are changed, hopefully in late September or early Oct.  A social event will be coordinated along with the ceremony.
