President Karen started our first March meeting with a thank you to the club for being patient during our "teething" problems with the new sound system, and also thanked President-elect Chris Perret for all his work to help resolve the sound problems.
Karen also thanked Margie for the business cards and bookmarks that are on the table, to help promote Rotary and our Centennial.
President Karen is also looking for additional help at co-ordinating the program on the evening of our Centennial Celebration, June 8th. If you can assist in working on that committee please contact her.

The Rotary Club welcomed Tom Carney to our meeting today, to speak about Safety City. They work toward improving community safety and injury presentation by education and awareness. Their primary focus has been through schools, from Kindergarten to Grade 6. They are a charitable, not for profit organization incorporated in 1981.
He spoke about a number of their programs, "Arrive Alive", "Home Safe Home" and "Trick or Treat", to name just a few. They aim to be in front of approximately 15,000 students each year. Last year they did somewhat less, about 430 presentations to about 11,700 students.
He spoke about their "Car Seat Clinics", which move from the Crestwood Car Wash to the Health Unit, and are on every Wednesday.
They are also part of a number of other programs, such as Day Camps, Babysitting Courses and Home Alone Courses.
Karen Blewett was the lucky winner of the weekly draw, collecting a box of lemon shortbread cookies donated by Dick Bide.
Leslie Jerry was NOT in attendance, and therefore did not win a free meal.

A copy of the digital image will be available to any member for free, and if you would like a copy of the photo printed on gator-board, Dave will be taking orders at a cost of $20. Any framing is left to the discretion of the individual Rotarian.
Chris Perret did a minute on the new sound system, both the good and bad related to it and received some feedback about performance and value. More changes and experimentation will be done over the next few months.
Dawn Barr provided an update on the MH High School Interact club's recent project, which will be a three year room renovation/decorating project at the MH Hospital. The students are coming up with theme ideas for the room at this week's meeting.
