Meeting Information
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

The President, as well as the rest of the club enjoyed the ceremonial presentation of the last piece of the Centennial project, Rotary Centennial Trail, to the City of Medicine Hat.  A great crowd of Rotarians, partners and special guests met at the east end of the trial and celebrated this great project.  Representatives from Rotary, Cypress County and the City of Medicine Hat all spoke and the trail is now officially finished.
A happy bunch of Rotarians, a great project - well done!
A good crowd was both hungry and thirsty after the event, so we enjoy a lunch at Boston Pizza.

Celebration for Rotary Centennial Trail
The Rotary Club of Medicine Hat, together with its community partners, celebrated the official completion of our Centennial Trail project in Medicine Hat.
The trail is 2.4 km from the intersection with Southridge Drive west to the Desert Blume community, and includes a safer crossing of South Boundary Road.  There are three stopping points along the trail, with garbage cans, benches, and small Rotary storyboards. It provides a safe pathway for City and County residents to travel back and forth.
A great crowd of Rotarians, friends and community leadership were present for the celebration.
Rotary leadership, Cypress County and City of Medicine Hat Counsellors and Managers
President-elect Mike Christie was the MC, and provided a summary of all the Rotary Centennial projects.  Our thanks to our great community partners.

NEW GENERATIONS SERVICE EXCHANGE PROGRAM (NGSE)
Alain Guerard, member of our Club and member of the District NGSE program committee, intimated that a NGSE participant from Brazil, Victoria, will be spending a month in Calgary (15 Jan  – 15 Feb 2024) and a month in Medicine Hat (15 Feb – 15 March 2024), centering her vocational exposure at and through the YMCA in both cities. Her career interest is physical education.

Alain said the NGSE is looking for host families in both cities. Victoria could have more than one host family in each city, if that facilitates matters for Rotarians who are willing to take her into their homes.  Alain mentioned that planning is also underway for another young participant from Brazil, Victor, a qualified civil engineer, to spend time with WTS Logistics in Calgary, for the vocational pillar of his NGSE experience.

NEXT BINGO: The next Bingo session will take place on Saturday August 5, in the afternoon. A sign up email will be going out by the end of this week.
