President Terry Partis was thrilled to welcome everyone back to the Medicine Hat Lodge for our first "in person" meeting, at our regular spot, in quite a while. He started the meeting by remember those who have "passed" since we were last at a regular meeting.
He spoke about upcoming events, and reiterated his call for volunteers to help with fundraising, community service and communications/promotion. Without leaders, these needs won't be met, so please consider pitching in.
The crowd was happy to be back together, and welcomed 4 remote viewers on our ZOOM link.
Rotary Club "What-z New":
The new club laptop made an appearance today, more equipment to facilitate hybrid meetings is on the way. Many thanks to Mike Christie and Edward Lipin for learning to work the technology and provide this enhanced club meeting experience. A photo below shows the "great minds" at work!
If our hybrid meetings continue in the future, a few more meeting helpers will be required to help run cameras and sound. We are all learning as we go along here, but these type of meetings are manpower intensive.
Rotary Club Membership Update:
If you are interested in helping this working membership team, please contact Mike Christie.
Past President Wayne Chesley presented Edward Lipin with his first Paul Harris Fellowship, in keeping with our recent tradition to maintain a 100% PHF club.

Dave Panabaker also announced that a blend of "in-person" meetings and "ZOOM" meetings are planned for July and August. Currently July 12th and July 19th and August 9th and 23nd are booked at the MH Lodge, WATCH for attendance invitations as we work with the MH Lodge to reopen things and have personal meetings. An email is out, looking for greeters at this meetings.
Dave Panabaker also sends along a reminder that the July 19th meeting is very important for the project to move the Rotary Music Festival into the public domain, to introduce the opportunity for public members to join the society and serve on the Board.
