It was a ZOOM business meeting for the Rotary Club today. President Bruce Shepard led the group through the formation of our new committee structure and how he hoped this would help our progress toward the Strategic Planning goals over the next year.
The meeting was reasonably well attended, for a Monday in the summer. At least 20 members of the club were present.
President Bruce went through the Club Executive first, as they comprise about half of our Rotary Club Board of Directors.
R.B. Shepard – President
Melanie Harty – Past President
Mike Christie – President Elect
Doug Fleming – Secretary
Gail Halderman –Treasurer
President Bruce then reviewed those Rotarians who had volunteered to service in Director positions.
Anne Carrier - Director at Large
Terry Cooper – Director of Community/International Service
Peter Mueller – Director of Youth/Membership/Recruitment
Stan Sakamoto – Director at Large
Dave Stalwick - Director of Club Service with PP Melanie Harty
Milan Vujovic – Director at Large
Thank you to everyone who has filled these positions and who is joining one of these teams. President Bruce will be following up with the "unassigned" group in the next few weeks, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to contribute to a committee.
Once the remaining contacts have been spoken to, an updated version of the presentation will go out to everyone. Bruce spoke about several traditions he would like to see restored, such as the meeting greeter and ensure we have a team of Sgt-at-Arm volunteers.

Rotary around the world. - Milan Vujovic was in his hometown on vacation having lunch at an open air cafe, when a young man walked up to him and asked him if he was "Milan???" He said "yes" of course, and the young man turned out to be our 2012-2013 Rotary Exchange Student, Julius Pucker from Austria. Julius is now a lawyer and was on a motorbike vacation along the Dalmatian Coast. An amazing coincidence. An unforgetable photo for Almira, Julius and Milan.
