Meeting Information
President's Message:
President Melanie Harty led the meeting today, and as it was a business meeting, a number of the Executive and Directors spoke about issues for our club and upcoming Rotary events.  She mentioned that the Board had been working hard on a few issues, which we will touch on today.  She also thanked everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support over the past few weeks.
President-elect Bruce Shepard reviewed the plans for the new Club Strategic Plan.  Please get any comments on the document back to him as soon as possible, he'd like most of the feedback this week, so he can organize some answers and begin the goal setting portion of the process.
Club Treasurer Gail Halderman and Director Dave Panabaker spoke about our meeting venue, the issue of meal costs going up and some complaints that had been received about food quality verse cost.  Everyone was invited to present feedback and to ask questions.  In general, there was agreement to try a few things, if they don't work we can always backtrack and try something different.  It was accepted that our location at the MH Lodge has value and we want to try some alternative lunch arrangements before considering a move.

There was also a recognition that perhaps we don't have to meet every week, and that planning at least one ZOOM meeting a month, as well as perhaps some outside the MH Lodge social/service event might help lower our overall cost.
Much more to come on this issue for sure.

Club Service Director Mike Christie advised that our Canada Day activity, cutting the cake for the celebration may be restored by the group at the Stampede Grounds who are organizing the July 1st event.  More information is coming in the next few weeks.  As well, we will be trying to work on the Spring Highway cleanup, concentrating on our roadway in NWCH and the Rotary Centennial Trail along South Boundary Road SW.  Those dates should be firmed up in the next few weeks.

Youth Service Director Peter Mueller spoke about his upcoming meeting with the MH High School Interact students, and the upcoming round of summer leadership and training opportunities.  He mentioned that our annual visit to the Interact students is in the works and hopefully a date will be available soon.
