President Terry Partis welcomed everyone to this important meeting of the club, to deal with an important issue for the future of the Rotary Music Festival.
Terry spent a few minutes at the beginning of the meeting thanking everyone who spent some time on Sunday at the Celebration of Life for Gerry Nadeau. He was happy to see such a great turnout and he knows that the family is very happy to see everyone.
Terry also spoke a little more about the "Move for Polio" initiative, several people had asked for more information about navigating the site, or doing donations, so some "pdf's" will be emailed out this week.
If you go to that page, and click the "participants" tab, you will see the 5 members of the club (Partis, Booyens, Bide, Christie and Panabaker) who have set up individual pages. Remember that if you identify yourself, you will receive Foundation points as well as an income tax receipt.
Please help us get to $2,500...remember Wayne Chesley's pledge to match that amount!
President Terry also mentioned that will help from AG Keith Walker and our Margie Booyens, some tri-club social meetings will be attempted in the fall. Each of the clubs will organize a place to meet, on the last Friday of the month, purely as a social get together.
September 24 - MH Rotary
October 29 - Sunrise Rotary
November 26 - Saamis Rotary
Please save those dates, the get together locations will be announced as they are picked.
It was great to see a few people on the ZOOM meeting, I believe at one time there were 7 participants.
Rotary Club "What-z New":
The new club laptop made an appearance today, more equipment to facilitate hybrid meetings is on the way. Many thanks to Mike Christie and Edward Lipin for learning to work the technology and provide this enhanced club meeting experience.
If our hybrid meetings continue in the future, a few more meeting helpers will be required to help run cameras and sound. We are all learning as we go along here, but these type of meetings are manpower intensive.

If you are interested in helping this working membership team, please contact Mike Christie.

President of the Music Festival Society, Milan Vujovic took the podium today and operated a Special General Meeting of the Rotary Music Festival Society. The purpose of the meeting was to approve a set of updated and revised Society bylaws, which would open up membership in the Society to the general public.
After calling the meeting to order, Milan provided some background to the changes and there were a few comments and questions answered from the Project Team members. After those were complete, on a motion made by Don Davis and seconded by Dave Panabaker, the revised bylaws were approved unanimously. Anne Carrier, as the recording secretary for the Society, took attendance and confirmed that significantly more than a minimum quorum were present to approve this historic change.
The work continues, as new membership applications for the society were available at the meeting and the existing Society Board will begin recruiting interested parties from the music community.
Thanks were given to the Project team and to the existing Music Festival Society Board, for all the hard work that went into this project. There is more work to do, but this was a significant step forward.
The winner of a bottle of Black Jelly Bean Vodka was Ken Zollner.
